About the artist

Cat Nelson was born and raised in southern California. She enjoys all art media, but clay was her first love, and she is also an accomplished silversmith. Her first clay project was done in kindergarten…she still has her handprint. In 1980, Cat moved to Washington and began working with clay as an assistant to the instructor at Evergreen State College’s community program. She also taught summer clay classes to children. After a long pause, she returned to clay as a student in MCC’s art program.

Cat will be exhibiting clay art at the Kingman Center for the Arts’ Southwest Art Show, May 4–26, 2018, at 208 Beale Street.
