Issue 3, Fall 2018
Foreword
from “Mohave County Lightning” by Beau Rogers
Ending the fall semester on a high note, Ovis returns with our third issue. We have expanded our repertoire of media for this issue, and we hope to continue doing so in the future. The creative capacity of MCC’s community continues to grow, and we are happy to have organized this selection of the best of this semester’s work.
Ovis Issue 3 features Jordan Brewer, Alexander Exley, Kenneth Gengler, High Arrow, Rich Libertini, Brittney Manson, Megan Radcliffe, Beau Rogers, Natalie Russ, Alieska Sablon, Sterling Silverman, and Samantha Slate.
Two sets of photos by Rogers exhibit unparalleled technical skill and composition. Photos by Gengler showcase Kingman in two distinct ways. A photo by Slate juxtaposes the lushness and austerity of the riparian desert.
Libertini shares with us his third contribution and first fiction piece for Ovis. Also returning are Brittney Manson with a bewitching short story, and Alexander Exley, with fiction and poetry. New to Ovis is Silverman, who shares a personal narrative. Lyric poetry by Brewer rounds out the literature from Issue 3.
Illustrations by Russ delight with classic style. Sablon shares darkly comic chapters of a graphic novel. Finally, in a new medium for Ovis, music by High Arrow completes Issue 3.
